U.S. News & World Report是國際知名的高等教育排名機構，其每年發布的全球頂尖大學排名（Best Global Universities Rankings），主要評估全球大學的研究實力與學術聲譽。對於打算出國留學的學子或尋求國際合作的研究者來說，這個排名能提供快速比較的參考，找到研究領域強、國際聲望高的學校。
今年為第11屆，共有 2,250 所頂尖大學納入排名，涵蓋了105 個國家。排名產生過程主要分兩步驟：首先建立候選池。U.S. News 從 Clarivate 提供的全球聲譽調查中，選出排名前 250 名的學校，並加入在 2019 至 2023 年間總發表論文數至少 1,250 篇的學校，形成完整候選池，今年共有2,346所大學入選。由於這樣的挑選條件，讓一些只有研究所的大學有機會入選。接著，利用 13 項指標（包括國際與區域聲譽、學術論文發表數量、論文被引數量和比例、國際合作等）進行加權計算，得出總排名，共有2,250 所頂尖大學上榜。
值得注意的是，U.S. News 全球排名的一大特色是同時考量區域聲譽，使排名不僅反映全球影響力，也呈現學者對所在區域內大學的評價，增加排名的國際多樣性。
